hello home slice_

Special mini-march Format edition!

ever needed to get something out and you just don't have time to ask your significant other or co-editor if he/she is okay with it? well, hello and welcome to me, now.

we've been meaning to get to this mini edition for some time, but with all that format festival and street art stuff, plus fringings, well, it hasn't happened.

so here I am, all pumped just past 3am, and my co-editor is fast asleep. what am I to do? well, I say print / send / make / bake. so excuse the typos, the lack of punctuation and all the style missing from this slice.. but its a last minute thing, fresh from the oven and straight to your door.

The End of the World Party

remember that last party you went to that the guys running it pulled together in 2 days and forgot to invite anyone to? it was a shambles, you had to get your older sister to drop you there because your parents had the car on their anniversary holiday escape, and then your sister got invited in by the slightly elderly boys in the hallway.. gosh.

well that party is back. its kind of a closing party for the format festival, but format isn't over yet.. and its kind of an end of ST5K party too.. but that'll still be running on the 15th. actually, fsck it, we admit it, it isn't really a party for anything. its just general party good times.

all you really need to know is that its in a garage, off a laneway, there will be lots of awesome local bands there, a friday 13th SnogGhoul DJing and perhaps even a performance by that gorgeous hunk of man thing, Ianto Ware and his band No Through Road. oh, and its okay to bring your older sister to this, Ianto is single.

When: Friday 13th March, 9pm - 2am (ish)
Where: Format, 145 Hindley st, entry from the back laneway off morphet street. Call who you know to get let in.
Bring: a white t-shirt, spirits. $3 coopers & wine available.
F***book: invite your close friends

Secret Vines

Beer is easy to choose, it comes in little bottles with big labels. But wine is a little tricky. Especially when we live in a state that produces a huge variety of tasty drops. We've given you some hints in the past to try some edgy brands like Some Young Punks, but that was a while back, and your cupboard is probably bare by now.. so, enter Tim Althaus and Secret Vines.

$89 will buy you "4 italians and some local trouble". Sounds good to us.

Adelaide Zine Fair

The Adelaide Zine and DIY Fair has been run annually since 2005, beginning as an independent event before attracting attention and support from the Fringe festival in 2006. Last year’s event featured sixty zine and independent publishers, ranging from members of the Unley City young writers’ group, long standing punk fanzine writers, local poets and artists, members of the Magdalene Community Centre and a vast array of young and emerging writers who have utilised zine publishing as the cheapest and easiest way to produce their work.
