Tensions
Are you fascinated by the little packets of information buzzing through the air that come out of your device in the form SMS, emails & phone calls? Perhaps you fancy squelchy sounds and flickery images?
Well we've heard that the next exhibition put on by the Shoot collective and Tristan Louth-Robins will probably raise your eyebrows.
When: Thursday (tonight!)
25th June @ 6pm
Where: EAF, Lion Arts Centre, cnr North Terrace and Morphett Street
Sammy D Vs Dragoza
There's so much to look forward to in this show. Not only are Joshua Smith and Joel VDK modern day gods of ink & paint, but they're putting on a print exhibition with a nod to 50s American B movies and Japanese monster flicks. Okay, so perhaps not those kinds of monster flicks, but you get the idea.
We're huge fans of their work, Josh's meticulous hand cut stencils and Joel's incredible line work.. Can it be the 9th already?
When: Thursday, July 9th, 7pm
Where: Dragonfly, 193 Victoria Square

Sub Pop Cyber Sex Sampler
The Future Of The Interweb.
The intergoogle is a complicated mix of tubes where participles of informations are transferred when they pass between dimensions.
Some scholars, and sci-fi nerds, believe the interwebnet will one day feature graphics, moving objects, colour (!) and even VHS videos.
But no way! The future is here already! Sub Pop Records present their Cyber Sex Sampler. A technologically advanced picture page with twilight zone style invisible access (they say it's called 'digital') to their latest pressings, featuring images of famous Hollywood starlets and a VHS video of a dancing guitar!
Seriously though, good FREE music without any guilt and splendidly backward web design.

David Lynch's Fox Bat Shit Nuts.
MGMT collab unlikely. Phew.
While 'Dark Night of the Soul', the upcoming record by Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse featuring Casablancas, Iggy, James Mercer, Frank Black and featuring contributions from David Lynch looks to be lost to the legal ether, Lynch's rock ascendency continues onward unimpeded.
Lynch a rocker? I guess his blonde flop could pass for a Swedish Morrissey impersonator but unfortunately we aren't going to get to hear him croon.
'Fox Bat Strategy : A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi' is a 7 track penned by Lynch but sung by Dave.
Can't wait for the weirdness.

‘Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle’ by Bill Callahan
Spunk
Be it as Smog, or (smog), or just Bill Callahan, over the last two decades the Maryland native has always exuded an aching beauty and an uncanny charm. His latest release ‘Sometimes I Wish I Were An Eagle’ may have hit the shelves at the beginning of the year, but is there ever an inappropriate time to salute an alt-country legend?
'Eagle' with its gorgeous production is simply breathtaking. The trademark rigid-yet-loose unpredictable song structures are still present and provide perfect company for Callahans witty and disparate tales. But it’s the small embellishments and the constant fight to balance painstaking yet reckless attention to detail that make this a masterpiece. It's the flowing strings, the curious piano licks, and the unexpected chirps of a backing singer that make this potentially Callahan's finest work to date.
